SVAPU Presents Their Annual Best Of The Best Awards At Their January Meeting

Autodesk Inventor R6 won the Best of the Best CAD Software award. This was the second time Inventor has taken home this trophy. "Inventor is the mechanical software of the future, " said Colin Flagg, SVAPU President.

Synergis Adept won the Best of the Best CAD Software Add-On. "Adept takes on the challenge of managing your engineering documentation and makes it easy, fast, and efficient, " said Elise Moss, SVAPU’s Vice President.

3DConnexion’s CADMan took the Best of the Best CAD Hardware trophy. "Better than a scroll mouse, " exclaimed Roy Watts, long-time SVAPU member. Watts, a former facility engineer at Moffet Field, said the CADMan has increased his producivity by at least 50%. "I use the CADMan in my design work and I have found it addictive…I’m at the point that I feel hindered if I don’t have a CADMan when I am working, " said Moss.

ID8 Media/ Microplus won Best of the Best local reseller for the third year in a row. "Microplus does an outstanding job of helping the Autodesk user community, even to the point of providing job referrals, " said Steve Wells, SVAPU board member.

Tracy Rogers, long-time SVAPU board member, won Best of the Best Power User. Rogers, an instructor at Silicon Valley College, was unable to attend the meeting due to recent surgery.

Every year the SVAPU board votes on which products viewed by the group during the previous year contributed the most to the CAD user community by boosting productivity, supporting the end user, and demonstrating excellence in service.
