PTC Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire on Linux First Product Design Solution For Growing Linux Opportunity

NEEDHAM, MA. - January 22, 2003 - PTC (Nasdaq: PMTCE), the product development company, demonstrated its soon-to-be-shipped Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire on the Linux operating system and Hewlett-Packard workstations at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in New York. In June 2002, PTC announced its intention to align with the Hewlett-Packard Company as the Linux partner for PTC's Pro/ENGINEER. 

Working with HP, PTC will test and support Red Hat Linux 7.3, on the full range of 32-bit Intel-based architecture workstations available from HP with the release of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire. 

"As the only major mechanical design application available on Linux, Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire offers customers the most flexibility in platform choice leading to the lowest total cost of ownership for their product development environment," said Brian Shepherd, senior vice president of technical marketing at PTC. 

The production version of PTC's Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, a breakthrough version of its award-winning Pro/ENGINEER� product design and development software, is scheduled to ship this quarter.
