Microsoft Corporation Chooses CoCreate's OneSpace Collaboration

Hardware Division works with partners and team members around the world using OneSpace Collaboration software

FORT COLLINS, Colorado and SINDELFINGEN, Germany - November 18, 2002 - Add Microsoft Corporation to the list of progressive companies using design collaboration software from CoCreate Software. CoCreate Software, Inc., the leading provider of collaborative product development software today announced that Microsoft Corporation is using OneSpace Collaboration to help with development of input devices such as mice, keyboards and gaming devices.

Microsoft selected the CoCreate product as part of a larger effort to cut product development costs and time by two-thirds through the use of outsourced design partners. "OneSpace Collaboration is a good choice for us," said Nielsen. "We're trying to communicate complex, innovative product ideas to design and supply chain partners who don't speak English as their first language. OneSpace Collaboration lets us communicate accurately and quickly and resolve problems in real-time."

They found that the CoCreate software complements their existing CAD and communication tools. "CoCreate understands the design process," said Nielsen. "Their software didn't require us to replace our existing CAD or PLM software. It provides the horsepower and security we need for design collaboration and fits with all the processes we already have in place." Microsoft first purchased the OneSpace Success service, a pilot program that provides software and consulting for the period of a single project. "We knew within a few weeks that we wanted to expand our usage," said Nielsen. "In less than four days, we installed the software, trained our users and began solving engineering problems with our distributed design team. We've found OneSpace Collaboration to be simply useful."
