New PTC Granite One Partners Fuel 'Product First' Initiatives With Powerful Interoperability and Collaboration Capabilities

NEEDHAM, Mass., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC (NASDAQ:PMTC), the product development company(TM), today announced five new partners for its Granite One licensable software development platform based on the unmatched geometry, feature, graphics and data exchange capabilities at the core of Pro/ENGINEER.

Granite One facilitates the creation and exchange of feature-based solid models using the same industrial strength algorithms and powerful associativity mechanisms at the heart of Pro/ENGINEER, a recognized leader at modeling complex geometry. Independent software vendors are now able to incorporate the Granite One platform into their own products and immediately have automatic native file access to the geometry of all other Granite One applications. This will ultimately simplifies the engineers' ability to easily deploy a heterogeneous CAD environment and design concurrently in a global enterprise.

The new partners include:

- - Fluent Inc., the world's largest provider of computational fluid dynamics software and consulting services for simulation, visualization, and prediction of fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, and chemical reactions.

- - Altair Engineering, Inc., an international product development and consulting company specializing in the development of high-end, open CAE software solutions for modeling, visualization, optimization and process automation 

- - Gibbs And Associates, a leading developer of CAM software for CNC machining supporting 2 - through 5 axis milling, turning. mill/turning, multi-task simultaneous machining and wire-EDM. 

- - ICEM Technologies, a worldwide leader in virtual modeling, providing a complete suite of advanced styling and surfacing solutions and expertise to major automotive and consumer products manufacturers.

- - Okino Computer Graphics, an industry leader in the development and deployment of 3D model/scenes/NURBS/animation translation technology (PolyTrans), 3D photo-realistic rendering software (NuGraf) and OEM developer software (NuGraf Toolkit). 

- - Informative Graphics Corp., a leading developer of commercial software products for Web publishing, visualization, and collaboration supports native Pro/E files via PTC's Granite One interoperability kernel in its popular MYRIAD 6.0 viewer product. IGC's decision to include Granite One in its latest MYRIAD release reflects the robust use of PTC technology at the core of the design engineering process in many industries.
