NEWTON, Mass., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Graphisoft, developer of the virtual building concept, today announced a nationwide series of lectures designed specifically for AEC industry professionals. Held at more than 90 locations, the seminars will focus on the new features and capabilities of the latest release of Graphisoft's ArchiCAD(R), the Company's flagship software for building design and documentation. Attendees to any session of the seminars are qualified to earn continuing education units (CEUs) from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). At each seminar, attendees will learn how 3D model-based design software enables architects to develop comprehensive building models easily and manage the architectural workflow from conceptual design to construction documentation more seamlessly and efficiently than ever before. Presenters will also walk attendees through the newest features and advanced functionality delivered with ArchiCAD 8, such as: - - Mark up tools to facilitate communication between designers; - - Features to link virtual building model to construction details; - - Open GL support to speed real-time walk-throughs and editing of the rendered model in perspective views - - Tools to create interactive schedules for building components such as furniture, doors, windows and equipment; and - - A layout book to manage the flow of information from the design model to plotted construction document sheet. "In today's competitive building market, architects need tools that will speed their design and documentation, increase the efficiency of their operations and provide a competitive advantage. ArchiCAD empowers architects to make giant improvements to their business processes while allowing them to focus on the heart of their work -- designing places for living, work, learning and play," said Chris Barron, vice president, architecture, for Graphisoft US. "We are excited to bring the latest release of our model-based design software on the road, directly to users in the AEC community." The tour begins on Monday, October 21, 2002.
