TIBCO Software's Solution for Deploying Siebel Systems' Business Processes Based on Best Practices Is Proven Through Signing a New Customer and Engaging Key Partners

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TIBCO Software Inc. announced today milestones that demonstrate the growing momentum of the Strategic Alliance between TIBCO Software and Siebel Systems. Working closely with Siebel Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SEBL), a leading provider of multichannel eBusiness applications software, TIBCO Software has developed a solution for quickly and cost-effectively deploying Siebel Systems' business processes based on best practices for Universal Application Network, the industry's first standards-based vendor-independent application integration solution. A new Universal Application Network customer will deploy this solution, using Siebel Systems' business processes running on TIBCO's integration platform to unify customer information across disparate systems. In addition, key Siebel Alliance Partners have selected this TIBCO integration solution to build demonstrations for their Universal Application Network integrations.

As organizations need to unify myriad disparate business processes and applications, integration is one of the key corporate constraints on revenue growth, increased productivity, and business performance visibility. Siebel Systems provides a rich library of business processes based on best practices that run on the TIBCO integration platform. TIBCO has worked in conjunction with Siebel Systems to design, model, and execute business processes for Customer Life Cycle Management, Product Life Cycle Management, Order Management, and Employee Relationship Management. In addition, the TIBCO business process modeling tool was used internally by Siebel Systems to create the customer-centric business processes based on best practices for Universal Application Network.

TIBCO also announced that 14 Siebel partners, including Accenture; Cap Gemini Ernst & Young; Deloitte Consulting; Firstlogic Inc.; Group 1; HP; IXOS SOFTWARE AG; NightFire Software; PTC; Portal Software, Inc.; Quest Software, Inc.; Reuters; SPSS Inc.; and WRQ, Inc., demonstrated Universal Application Network solutions based on TIBCO's integration platform during the Siebel Worldwide User Week 2002 conference in Los Angeles, California.
