MXURBAN’s Sleek Automation Raises the Bar in Design Productivity and Interoperability

Civil engineers will find a new level of automation in MXURBAN, which reduces the learning curve. The program’s innovative step-by-step features guide the civil designer through the complex engineering process of defining and modifying the urban roadway. The user can quickly try out what-if scenarios when raising or lowering a design. Because the program is interactive, the user can move roadway components and instantly view the overall effects. With this fully 3D design tool, you can see and evaluate design changes every way you need to--in plan, profile, section and isometric views. MXURBAN can also import data from a wide range of sources, including DWG, DGN, ASCII, and LandXML formats. The product is available in a standalone Windows NT version or embedded in CAD programs such as AutoCAD and Microstation.

Highlights of MXURBAN Design

Users can examine roadway designs from a 3D perspective to view centerline and edge of pavement elevations. Any design feature can be regraded with an automatic best-fit profile created through user-defined constraints. The user can configure tool tips to identify and confirm design features. MXURBAN will automatically generate warnings to notify the user when the design may require checking.

MXURBAN can also be used for pavement layer design and offers a variety of tools to model any pavement construction type. The program has a special wizard to specify and store pavement styles. Various pavement configurations can be applied along, or across, a street.

Design Analysis and Reports Provide Decision-Making Information The urban civil engineer will find a prime selection of design analysis tools and report generators in MXURBAN. The MX user can inspect surface differences in the old vs. new road designs, and can display both depth bands and contours. Using sophisticated reporting tools, the civil design team can assess the overall design and project costs, and identify potential cost savings areas. MXURBAN provides a comprehensive array of reports, including pavement layer, regulation and milling quantities, surface differences and planing depths. All of these reports can be easily imported into any popular spreadsheet software packages for customization.
