Efficient Engineering Launches PD Interactive as Technology Spin-Out

New software company to focus on CAD interoperability problems

TROY, Mich., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Efficient Engineering, a leader in the full-service engineering design field since 1939, announced that it has formed PD Interactive as a spin-out company based on proprietary technology developed at Efficient Engineering to address Computer-Aided Design (CAD) interoperability pain points in the engineering and product development processes.

PD Interactive is a developer of software and services that address engineering and design interoperability problems with multiple CAD platforms. The company's patent-pending CAD-XML(SM) technology builds detailed models of components that can be manipulated by engineers in any of the common proprietary CAD platforms. The files are then exported using PD Interactive technology into other, competing platforms with far greater accuracy and speed than any traditional CAD translation software.

"It is extremely expensive and time-consuming for companies to deal with maintaining multiple seats on a wide variety of CAD platforms, while subjecting their engineers to training on each platform," said Efficient Engineering CEO & President Robert Baer. "The technology behind PD Interactive eliminates the need for multiple CAD platform seats, the training required to use those seats and may reduce the engineering staff required to man those platforms."

Taking the helm for PD Interactive will be President and CEO Jeff Camiener, who is also President of Efficient Engineering.
