Wuxi Risho Technology Selects Solid Edge® Computer-Aided Design Software from EDS

Ease of use, cost-effectiveness and company image cited in selection

PLANO, Texas 10 Oct 2002 -- EDS today announced the selection of its Solid Edge® computer-aided design (CAD) software by automotive parts supplier Wuxi Risho Technology Co. Ltd., a joint venture business between Tokai Rika Co., Ltd. (Japan) and Hsin Chong International Investment Ltd. (Taiwan). Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Wuxi Risho purchased 30 licenses of Solid Edge as their enterprise CAD standard platform. The company will use Solid Edge to design parts and accessories for automotive seat belts, child safety seats, baby safety seats and other products. Wuxi Risho selected Solid Edge after evaluating several CAD systems for its ease of use, low cost of ownership and the corporate strengths of EDS.

Wuxi Risho joins several other Hsin Chong companies using Solid Edge. Hsing Chong is a major automotive supplier to vehicle manufacturers in the Greater China region, supplying seats, windows, locking mechanisms, sunroofs and other components. Hsing Chong companies are now using more than 100 seats of Solid Edge across different divisions.
