Piranesi Wins Prestigious Japanese Design Award
Cambridge UK - 9 Oct 2002 -- Piranesi, the unique "3D Painting" program from Informatix Software International Limited, has won the prestigious "G-Mark" award from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO). The JIDPO exists to promote industrial design in both consumer goods and capital goods. Its Good Design Award, which confers the right to use the G-Mark symbol, is awarded to a select band of products which meet strict criteria of uniqueness, capability, usability, and good design. In use since 1958, the G-Mark is instantly recognised by most Japanese people. Using Piranesi, designers can start with simple models and renderings, and use Piranesi's patented 3D painting technology to quickly fill in missing detail using photorealistic and hand-drawn effects. Developed by Informatix in Cambridge, England, it is available worldwide and especially popular in Japan.
