Infrasoft Corporation Previews MXURBAN Road Design Software

Urban Road Design Solution Shown at North American MX Users Group Conference and the 2002 International HEEP (Highway Engineering Exchange Program) Conference

Infrasoft also had a preliminary showing of the new software product at the 2002 International HEEP (Highway Engineering Exchange Program) Conference held on September 15th - 19th, 2002 in St. Louis, Missouri. MXURBAN is a powerful automated design toolset for reconstructing roadways in highly confined areas in towns, urban and suburban settings.

Infrasoft�s management and technical staff presented MXURBAN and its innovative step-by-step automation features that guide the civil designer through the process of defining the road envelope. Viewers could see the impact of modifications to the design immediately. �Participants in our focus groups�municipalities and engineering firms�identified a lack of design software for roads in tight spaces. MXURBAN fills that gap,� stated Stan Fenton, Chairman of Infrasoft North America. �It replaces spreadsheets and other inadequate methods of iterating designs with a tool that saves time on their bread-and-butter design projects.�

MXURBAN enables the engineer to evaluate design changes in plan, profile, and section views. Changes in any view are immediately updated in all views of the roadway. �One benefit to civil designers that I noticed right away,� continues Fullerton, �was the roadway profiles from a 3D perspective to view centerline and edge of pavement elevations which could be beneficial to municipalities with a resurfacing program in effect.� Mr. Fullerton attended a focus group and was among the first to see the benefits of the new product.
