PTC WINS "PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR" AWARD FROM THE MINNESOTA TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Honors Significant Contribution to Technology Education in Minnesota

NEEDHAM, Mass. - Oct. 1, 2002 - The Minnesota Technology Education Association (MTEA) has presented its Professional of the Year award to PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the product development company?, in recognition of the company's efforts to champion technology education in Minnesota.

PTC received the award for its Partnership for Innovative Learning program during a ceremony at the annual MTEA Fall Conference in St. Cloud, Minn., on Friday.

"PTC won this award as a result of its significant contributions to technological literacy in our state," said Bob Koppes, award chair of the MTEA. "The company supports the mission and vision of the MTEA: to strive for the ideal form of technology education for all students at all levels. The generosity of the PTC Partnership for Innovative Learning program and the quality of its software for classroom education are a winning combination for students and teachers."

PTC's Partnership for Innovative Learning empowers Minnesota educators to teach problem solving, collaboration and visual communication skills through its special training and pricing program for Pro/DESKTOP� solid modeling software. By the fall of 2002, the Partnership for Innovative Learning will have provided more than 100 MTEA members with free licenses of Pro/DESKTOP, PTC's 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software program, as well as curricular materials and extensive resources to support the use of the 3D software in technology classrooms all across the state of Minnesota.

"Winning this award is an honor and a testament to the positive impact PTC is having on improving the technological literacy of our country's youth," said John Stuart, senior vice president of education and community relations at PTC. "With the growing number of Minnesota teachers using PTC software in the classroom, the state is a rising star in promoting the quality of technology education. The Partnership for Innovative Learning is the educational component of PTC's Product First initiative, which provides product-focused companies with solutions critical to the product development process.
