Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore Signs I-Sketch and SPOOLGEN Global Reseller Agreement with Alias LimitedAlso Renews ISOGEN Licensing Agreement
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Sept. 30, 2002 - Intergraph Corporation <NASDAQ: INGR> on behalf of its Process, Power & Offshore division has signed a contract with Alias Limited for worldwide resale of the Alias I-Sketch piping suite and SPOOLGEN pipe fabrication software. Resale of Alias I-Sketch and SPOOLGEN expands the Intergraph product portfolio with PDS(tm)-compatible tools and offers customers convenient, single-point sales, leasing and support. Intergraph also renewed its OEM licensing agreement with Alias for the ISOGEN drawing generation software. The terms of the renewal will provide more flexibility for ISOGEN licensing and leasing to better meet customer demand. The division plans to later announce new license and lease options for ISOGEN, which provides isometric piping drawing extraction and production capabilities for Intergraph PDS (Plant Design System). I-Sketch Ideal as Independent or Integrated with PDSAlias I-Sketch is used to draw high-quality piping isometrics without CAD and to produce customizable drawings using existing pipe specs which can be imported from PDS. SPOOLGEN transfers digital output of I-Sketch and ISOGEN into a format immediately usable by pipe manufacturers, fabricators and constructors. For plant owners, I-Sketch is ideal for performing in-house revamps or documenting as-built plant configurations. With I-Sketch automation, users can communicate plant piping changes to their engineering firms or directly to the PDS 3D model for updates. Engineering companies can load existing PDS pipe specs into I-Sketch and use it to sketch piping before or during plant design and construction projects. Engineers can complete pipelines initially created in the design office with PDS which have been sent to the construction site for field-routing and finishing. Users can re-integrate such design work or as-builts from the field back into PDS via the I-Export utility. Agreements Benefit Plant Design MarketDavid Lott, managing director, Alias Limited, said, "The Alias agreements are representative of an exceptionally strong third-party development and reseller relationship that continues to benefit Alias and PDS users alike. Alias is pleased to be noted as the division's most long-standing partner." John Eichstaedt, executive director, Global Business Development - Design Systems, Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore, said, "The Alias software as resold by Intergraph provides a high level of integration and piping productivity value, which is not available for all plant design applications on the market. The new agreements with Alias are based on a long and successful history with ISOGEN and SPOOLGEN which began in the early days of PDS." Alias: For Piping ProductivityAlias Limited (www.alias.ltd.uk) develops engineering automation software for design, documentation, fabrication and maintenance of piping systems. Alias Limited is the market leader in the provision of automatic generation of piping isometrics from plant design systems through their flagship product ISOGEN, the standard for drawing generation and piping data transfer in the process industries. Both ISOGEN and SPOOLGEN have been essential complements to Intergraph PDS since the 1980s, delivering solutions through a combination of automation engines, software applications and services.
