LightWork Design and Alibre Partner to Deliver Photorealistic Rendering 

World's leading rendering engine to be integrated within Alibre PhotoRender

SHEFFIELD, UK (17 September 2002) - LightWork Design, the world's leading supplier of quality advanced computer graphics software for rendering, simulation and verification solutions, has announced today that Alibre Inc. has licensed LightWorks technology for inclusion in its Alibre PhotoRender application, a photorealistic rendering module for Alibre Design.

Alibre Design is an affordable, easy-to-deploy application for 3D solid modelling, real-time team design and data sharing. Alibre Design is a professional 3D CAD application that costs one-tenth that of comparable mid-range solid modellers; it has a modern architecture that also enables users to share and edit product designs and spontaneously work together online in real time. The inclusion of LightWorks in Alibre PhotoRender will add a new dimension to Alibre Design and let users easily create photorealistic images for presentation and material specification purposes. Specifically, with a part or assembly open in Alibre Design, users may choose PhotoRender from the Tools menu. This launches the rendering module and opens a photorealistic image of the model that users may alter by simply dragging and dropping properties such as materials, illumination and scenery.
