Sony Selects PTC MCAD Solutions

Electronic Products Giant Selects Pro/ENGINEER to Reengineer Product Development

NEEDHAM, Mass. - September 12, 2002 - /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC, the product development company(TM), today announced it has received an order for PTC's MCAD solutions from Sony Espana, the Spanish subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Corporation. Sony is one of the most comprehensive entertainment companies in the world and a leading manufacturer of audio, video and information technology products for the consumer and professional markets. The software was shipped during PTC's third fiscal quarter (ended June 29, 2002).

Sony Espana will use PTC's Pro/ENGINEER(R) software solutions for its Sony Virtual Products Europe (VPE) division to design innovative television sets, as well as for the development of a new projection television line.

In the past, Sony Espana has used PTC solutions to collaborate with other Sony VPE development plants around the world.
