C4W Announces the Availability of 3D ReBuilder For Reverse Engineering and Triangles Mesh Fixing

Montpellier (France), Hollis (New Hampshire) September 9, 2002 --The French company C4W, provider of world class software components for the development of 3D applications, announces the availability of 3D ReBuilder, a programs library integrated into 3D Kernel, its modeling toolkit, for the digitizing of points clouds and the correction of existing meshes.

The applications of this technology range from reverse engineering to the handling of medical data coming from scanners and similar machines.

3D ReBuilder is the result of an industrial collaboration with several years of intensive use.

It allows to create a tessellated model from a cloud of points and to improve the quality of the mesh. It may also be used to improve the quality of existing meshes such as STL files used for rapid prototyping.

3D ReBuilder shows very good performances on large files and its ability to use the features lines of a model give far better results than the traditional approach.

This library is also offered as a plug-in application of 3D Shop under the same name, 3D ReBuilder. Its association with the other functions of 3D Shop makes it a very powerful tool.

It is a perfect complement to the capabilities of 3D STL of making airtight meshes from 3D CAD models.

The price of this module is $2000.
