CINCINNATI - August 29, 2002 - CAD Centric Systems, The Document Distribution Company(SM), today announced the immediate availability and support of the HP DirectModel (JT) file format in OneView Lite, its free, lightweight viewer for 3D CAD data.

"OneView Lite has been tremendously successful since it was originally introduced in January, far surpassing our expectations," said Doug Dennis, president, CAD Centric Systems. "With the introduction of support for DirectModel, we hope to further the acceptance and general use of 3D data as a common tool for communicating engineering design information. Our OneView Lite product is an excellent entry-level application that allows companies to fully understand the benefit of deploying 3D data."
The barriers to entry in broad 3D data distribution have been both application complexity and cost of deployment. Now with OneView Lite, organizations can experiment with large-scale distribution of 3D CAD data in areas where before it was prohibitive. OneView Lite, with support for the DirectModel format (JT), gives companies using software from Dassault Systems, Parametric Technologies, EDS Unigraphics, EDS IDEAS, and others which support DirectModel, the ability to economically experiment with 3D across the entire product life cycle chain.

With a concise user interface and support for both components and assemblies, OneView Lite is suited for both the technical and non-technical user alike. "We believe OneView Lite will change the mind set when it comes to thinking about who can access 3D design data," commented John Buehler, Chief Technical Officer, CAD Centric Systems. "We spent a lot of time getting the usability factors just right and think that the product will serve a broad set of users from design throughout the entire enterprise."

OneView Lite leverages the capabilities of CAD Centric's OneView application, which views both 2D drawing data and 3D model and assembly information generated by many of today's CAD systems. With OneView, corporate users have access to both model and drawing information from an integrated viewer this allows for comprehensive design reviews which require access to engineering, design, manufacturing, and production data from a unified viewer.

CAD Centric Systems, Inc. develops and markets software, which facilitates the interoperability and deployment of information generated by industry standard CAD/CAM systems including those from SDRC, PTC, EDS Unigraphics, Dassault Systemes, and others. CAD Centric's software permits individuals across the enterprise to have direct access to information generated in CAD for viewing, annotation, markup, and use in other applications. CAD Centric Systems is a privately held company.

CAD Centric, the CAD Centric logo, Drafting Apprentice, OneView, OneView Lite, CWEB, and config2order.com are registered marks of CAD Centric Systems, Inc.
