August 23, 2002 - Delcam will launch a new guide to automated mould design on stand D-3037 at the IMTS exhibition to be held in Chicago from 4th to 11th September. The guide, which is available in CD format, will help mouldmakers that are new to CADCAM to select a suitable design system. It will also assist those companies already using CADCAM to ensure that they obtain the maximum benefit from their investment.
The guide covers every stage in the development of a mould from receipt of a CAD model of the product through to the manufacture and assembly of the various components. Details are included on all the preparatory steps needed to analyse, repair and modify the model for manufacturability, as well as on the construction of the mould.
At each stage, video demonstrations show how the CADCAM system selects, modifies and positions the various components in the tool. Video simulations are also included to explain how the various components in the mould operate during processing.
