New Technology from LightWork Design Unveiled at SIGGRAPH 2002

Major new developments for LightWorks - the world's leading rendering engine!

Visitors to the LightWork Design booth saw demonstrations showing new technology that will be introduced to LightWorks in the coming months. The new technology was welcomed by customers - software application developers - and their users, confirming that LightWork Design really does understand the needs of the market place. Modular Product Suite

Application developers were particularly interested to learn about the new modular product structure that will be introduced in the release of LightWorks 7.0 later this year. The new structure meets the requirements of developers creating rendering solutions for any type of market and application. Developers appreciate the flexibility of this modular structure, which allows them to select the product set that best fits the needs of their market place and to easily add additional functionality to their applications.

Second-Generation Global Illumination

3D application users were excited to find out about the forthcoming release of the new global illumination technology in LightWorks. This will provide them with an easier-to-use and more effective solution for rendering global illumination effects - giving them the power to create subtle images that include specular and diffuse light-transfer from glossy surfaces as well as direct caustics from transparent objects.

The preview of a unique range of new LightWorks Archives (LWA) for LWA-Enabled applications generated a buzz with users from all industries. Users readily recognize the value of the increased productivity and enhanced image realism that LWA brings to them, as shown in the SIGGRAPH demonstration. The ability to select, accurately visualize and specify real-world, industry-standard materials and content in CAD applications is of great value to 3D designers throughout the art-to-part process.
