SAN ANTONIO, Texas - July 22, 2002 -  PRNewswire-FirstCall - ArchVision, Inc. today announced the availability of RPC(TM) (Rich Photorealistic Content) Automobiles Volume 2, the third library collection under the Smart Content(TM) umbrella. Building on RPC Automobiles Volume 1 which was released in April 2002, the second volume sports improved image calibration resulting in even more realistic content. The following four luxury vehicles are included in the collection: BMW 323 ti compact, Lexus IS 300, Lexus GS 400, and Mercedes Benz CL 600.

Since 1998, ArchVision has been creating RPC content, known in the design visualization community for its ability to represent complex objects, such as people and trees, photo realistically with minimal system resources. According to Randall Stevens, President and CEO of ArchVision, "The response to our introduction of RPC Automobiles has been fantastic. We plan to continue building on that success by providing additional automobile content delivered through RPC's photorealistic low geometry approach."

"The first volume of RPC Automobiles included realistic, easily customizable images right down to the license plate," says Gary Rackliff, Director of 3D at R. Miller Visualization who used cars from volume 1 in an animation of a Pennsylvania hospital. "I am confident volume 2 will be another valuable tool for the visualization world."

RPC Automobiles Volume 2 utilizes the Smart Content technology presenting users with a content-driven interface. When RPC content is selected, the user-interface self-adjusts to present specific control options appropriate for that content type allowing users to not only easily add photorealistic content to scenes, but also to easily edit that content. RPC 3.0 is required to utilize this new Smart Content. Visit our web site for a free, fully functioning demo of the RPC 3.0 plug-in for 3Ds Max or Autodesk Viz and a sample RPC Automobile from Volume 1.
