Intergraph Consulting of India Receives Highest Level of Quality Certification

Software Engineering Institute awards Capability Maturity Model Level 5 certification

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 19, 2002 - Intergraph Consulting Private Ltd. of India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intergraph Corporation, has received Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 5 certification from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. CMM Level 5 is the highest level of process quality certification awarded by SEI for software development and services.

"This achievement is yet another momentous landmark in Intergraph Consulting's continuous pursuit of process improvement," said Surajit Dutta-Choudhury, managing director for Intergraph Consulting.

Intergraph Consulting's journey of excellence and quest for quality certification began in 1997 with the study of internationally recognized approaches to quality such as Kaizan, ISO, CMM, TQM, and Rapid Development. Intergraph Consulting focused on SEI CMM model because it closely maps and adds value to the organization's business needs.

In its rigorous assessment of process quality at Intergraph Consulting, SEI examined practices for planning, engineering, and managing software development, maintenance, and certification. The SEI assessment for software development and services was conducted by a 16-member team headed by Thummalapalli Srinivas from KPMG, a certified lead assessor from SEI USA. The assessment covered all types of projects across different product lines at Intergraph Consulting.

Commenting on the assessment, Srinivas said, "It is a pleasure to be associated with Intergraph Consulting in their journey towards CMM Level 5."

Congratulating the employees on the achievement, Managing Director Dutta-Choudhury said, "SEI CMM Level 5 is a significant milestone in the history of the company, but not an end in itself.
