Ameri-CAD Releases VisionTrim Add-on for Architectural Desktop

Enhanced Power and functionality for the ADT User!

PLANO, Texas - July 15, 2002 - Ameri-CAD, Inc has released VisionTrim for AutoCAD Architectural Desktop. VisionTrim is a 3rd party add-on that allows the user to define trim components and shapes that are to be applied to windows, doors, and openings. In addition, muntin styles that auto-adjust with the size, shape, and style of the window can be defined and applied to a selection set of windows. VisionTrim runs on AutoCAD's Architectural Desktop R3.3 and is available for a FREE 30-day trial period.

Users can define trim components including their shape to represent various materials. They can then combine and apply those styles to windows, doors and openings. Applied trim styles can later be updated globally or edited individually. You can also define how various trim components are to be mitered or extended. As you change the size, shape or style of a window, door or opening those definitions will be applied to the new size, shape or style.

Muntin styles can also be defined to adjust to the size, shape and style of windows. Muntins can be defined to repeat at a spacing, which enables the number of muntins to change as the size or shape of the window changes. Profiles can be defined such as louvers to enable the creation of items such as vents and shutters. Model and elevation displays are coordinated so that when muntins change in one display representation, the other display representation is also changed. Muntins can also be defined to display as single lines in elevation while the same pattern is displayed as a solid body in model views. VisionTrim uses many ADT concepts such as display representations, display properties and layer keys. You can also continue to use ADT entities such as muntins in conjunction with windows if you so desire.
