Intergraph's GeoSpatial World 2002 Opens to International Audience in AtlantaAttendees garner "ideas you can use" from a program of more than 190 technical sessions and in-depth demonstrations of the recently released GeoMedia 5.0 product suite
ATLANTA, June 10, 2002 * GeoSpatial World 2002 * Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions' GeoSpatial World 2002 conference opened today to an international audience, providing attendees with their first opportunity to experience the additional capabilities and enhanced functionality of the new, powerful GeoMedia(R) 5.0. With customers, prospects, and exhibitors from more than 36 countries, GeoSpatial World 2002 continues through Wednesday in Atlanta and features more than 190 technical sessions highlighting customer applications, technology previews, industry products and solutions, and technical updates providing "ideas you can use." Preetha Pulusani, president of Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions, set the pace for the conference by sharing Intergraph's vision for the future of mapping and GIS, discussing the company's market leadership role, and exploring the effect of technological innovation on the industry. Following Pulusani's presentation, James Taylor, Intergraph chairman and CEO, spoke briefly regarding the company's overall positioning and the role played by Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions within the larger Intergraph picture. Strategic addresses from respected industry visionaries within the mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) community will be featured each day of the conference. Vanessa Lawrence, director general and chief executive of Ordnance Survey, Great Britain, will speak on Tuesday. And Richard J. Varn, chief information officer (CIO) and director of the Information Technology Department for the state of Iowa will address the conference on Wednesday.
