Oce and Autodesk Sign Exclusive Licensing Agreement For Reprographic Software SolutionsAgreement Strengthens Existing Partnership Involving Delivery of Print Automation Technology to Commercial Reprographers
Chicago, IL, May 13, 2002 - Oce (NASDAQ: OCENY), a global leader in digital document management and delivery technology, and Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), the world's leading design and digital content creation company, today announced they have entered into a worldwide exclusive licensing agreement aimed at providing the commercial reprographic market with industry-leading print management solutions from Autodesk. This agreement strengthens an existing long-term partnership between the two companies where they have successfully provided the reprographic market with print automation solutions used by the majority of the worldwide reprographic printers, enhancing their productivity and improving profits. Under the agreement, Oce has purchased the exclusive worldwide rights to develop, distribute and support Oce Plan Center? software (currently known as Plans & Specs) and Oce Repro Desk? software (also known as Apprentice). The agreement expires in May 2003, at which time Oce will have an exclusive option to purchase the licensed technology from Autodesk. Effective May 15, 2002, the development and support of the products will be managed and controlled by Oce.
