WAYLAND, Mass.--May 6, 2002--Moldflow Corporation (NASDAQ:MFLO), the world leader in process-wide solutions for optimizing the design and manufacture of plastic products, today announced a formal partnership with A. Routsis Associates, Inc., a pioneer of 3-D animation and CD-ROM technology for training in the plastics industry, to make computer-based training products available at Moldflow's plasticszone.com web site. In addition to Moldflow's existing range of training courses, the partnership expands Moldflow's educational offerings to include computer-based training programs for injection molding, part design, and mold design.

Steve Thompson, Moldflow's global training manager, says, "Providing access to a complete spectrum of scalable training tools that allow our customers to work smarter is critical in today's challenging economy. Whether it's Moldflow's self-study web-based training, instructor-led classroom training, or Routsis' computer-based training, our customers can choose the method that best suits their time, travel, and budgetary constraints."

Access to Moldflow's training schedules and classes is available on the Education Zone at www.plasticszone.com, where students can select from a variety of training options such as the online learning center, classroom learning, Moldflow Center for Professional Development (MCPD) certification, web-based learning, and computer-based learning.

The A. Routsis computer-based training products that will be available through plasticszone.com cover three key areas related to injection molding, including:

- Basic Injection Molding - Topics include the injection molding machine, the injection molding process, and injection molds. This series provides a solid foundation for understanding how the molding process works and is a good refresher course for any employee.

- Plastic Part Design - This series provides an understanding of the plastic part design process and was developed by Dr. Robert Malloy, respected author and professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Areas covered include product development, mold filling, gating, mechanical behavior of polymers, shrinkage, warpage, part ejection, and various joining techniques.

- Mold Design and Moldmaking - This series is designed for mold designers, mold makers, part designers, and anyone involved in the mold procurement process and provides an introduction to various types of injection molds. Topics include injection molding fundamentals, mold design, machining methods, two-plate, three-plate, and hot runner molds, tool steels, mold actions, runners, gates, parting lines, mold filling software, part ejection, venting, and cooling.

Andy Routsis, founder and president of A. Routsis Associates, Inc., adds, "We believe that this partnership with Moldflow further complements our objective of providing the widest range of training materials and courses for customers working in the injection molding industry. Our combined product offerings allow Moldflow customers to access a complete and scalable set of injection molding training materials."
