HKS and Elysium Announce Technology Licensing Agreement Providing Interoperability for Advanced Simulation

Robust technology for geometry exchange extends ABAQUS/CAE capabilities

Pawtucket, R.I., and Torrance, Calif. - April 23, 2002 - Hibbitt, Karlsson & Sorensen, Inc. (HKS), makers of the ABAQUS(r) suite of software for advanced mechanical simulation, today announced an agreement with Elysium Inc., developers of CADporter data translation software. HKS will integrate, license and market Elysium technology for the direct, seamless exchange of CAD geometry into ABAQUS/CAE, the interactive environment for creating, running and evaluating results from ABAQUS analyses.

This agreement will extend the capabilities of ABAQUS/CAE to enable native geometry import from major CAD products including CATIA, I-DEAS, Pro/ENGINEER, and Parasolid-based systems such as Unigraphics and SolidWorks.
