Actify Introduces New Visualization and Design Sharing Solution for Enterprise Customers

Client-Server Solution, Based on Microsoft .NET Platform, Enables Collaboration and Product Design Sharing Across an Extended Enterprise

SAN FRANCISCO --�� April 15, 2002 �� Actify, a supplier of visualization and design sharing solutions, today introduced its new SpinFire Enterprise and SpinFire Professional products. SpinFire Enterprise is a software solution that allows companies to securely host and share critical product design information across an entire enterprise via the Web. SpinFire Professional, formerly named 3DView, serves as the desktop client to the enterprise server, allowing users to seamlessly access product designs and collaborate on the design, regardless of the user�s location.

With the SpinFire solutions, anyone who needs to participate in the product design and manufacturing process can have access to 2D and 3D CAD designs without requiring a full-featured CAD system or workstation. This could include engineering teams, technical sales, estimators, purchasing agents, marketing teams, senior level executives, field service and support, manufacturing groups, as well as suppliers and customers. Users can perform a number of functions, including quickly providing manufacturing quotes to customers, performing quality inspections, and collaborating and communicating feedback on product designs.

SpinFire Enterprise is sold as a turnkey package based on customer requirements. The enterprise offering, which was developed on Microsoft�s .NET platform, is designed to plug into a company�s existing infrastructure through the use of XML Web services to easily add sharing and collaboration capabilities. The entire solution is typically installed in one day. The modular design of SpinFire Enterprise ensures that it can be readily extended and integrated, as needed, with advanced PLM, PDM and ERP environments. Additional components, such as new importers or additional seats, can be added as needed. SpinFire Professional uses a standard Windows interface, making it easy to use without specialized training or CAD experience.

SpinFire Enterprise Deployed by Carlisle�s Automotive Components Group Carlisle Engineered Products, the Automotive Components segment of Carlisle Companies Incorporated, served as the first SpinFire Enterprise customer. Carlisle Engineered Products is engaged in manufacturing highly engineered plastic and rubber components for the automotive industry, including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, Subaru and Mercedes Benz. A 50-seat enterprise solution was installed and ready to use in just a few hours and the company is quickly realizing a return on its investment.
