Notable Industry Visionaries to Speak at Intergraph's GeoSpatial World 2002 Conference

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 11, 2002 - Emerging market trends, technology direction, and real-world applications are the cornerstone of GeoSpatial World 2002, the Intergraph GeoSpatial Users Community (IGUC) International Training and Management Conference. This event will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, June 10-12. Complementing more than 190 professional development sessions, the conference will feature strategic addresses from respected industry visionaries in the mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) community. Their presentations will illuminate exciting ideas and practical applications for the mapping and GIS industry. GeoSpatial World attendees will hear:

Preetha Pulusani, president of Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions - Pulusani will open the second annual GeoSpatial World by sharing Intergraph's vision for growth, market leadership, and technology innovation. She will spotlight the growing significance of geospatial data and metadata, useful enterprise applications that enable maximum use of Internet and wireless technologies, and successful customer implementations in both traditional markets and innovative new directions. Pulusani, a respected member of the Open GIS Consortium (OGC) board of directors, will reinforce Intergraph's continued support of OGC initiatives for interoperability in the mapping and GIS marketplace.

James F. Taylor, CEO of Intergraph Corporation - Following Pulusani's presentation, Taylor, one of the founders of Intergraph, will speak briefly about his vision for the future of the company and the role played by Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions. His leadership has been instrumental in distinguishing Intergraph as an industry-leading mapping and engineering software company.

Vanessa Lawrence, director general and chief executive of Ordnance Survey, Great Britain - On Tuesday, Lawrence will discuss how Ordnance Survey is meeting business challenges with a new business model and e-strategy. Lawrence, a council member of the Association for Geographical Information and an esteemed member of the Court of the University of Southampton, will share how the re-engineering of the national large-scale database was a key to Ordnance Survey's business success.

Richard J. Varn, chief information officer and director of the Information Technology Department for the state of Iowa - Varn, a former Iowa state representative and state senator, will explore the roles of geospatial systems in decision making, planning, marketing and analysis in private and public sectors during Wednesday's address. As a nationally recognized leader in information technology management, privacy issues, and digital government, Varn will suggest strategies for promoting and expanding the use and application of GIS.
