Cyon Research Issues First Report on Interoperability: EDS and PTC Firm's Study Reveals Industry 'Sea Change'
Bethesda, MD -- April 3, 2002 -- Cyon Research Corporation, a leader in providing market knowledge for the CAD and PLM markets, today issued its first interoperability white paper today. The report, "EDS and PTC: Is there any substance to their interoperability agreement?", examines the recent move by EDS and PTC toward promoting interoperability between their systems. Every PLM solution has to deal with the problem of interoperability. No single company can provide all of the components of a PLM solution, since PLM is so broad that no single vendor has all the pieces of the puzzle. The problem seriously impacts the user financially, and hamstrings vendor's ability to deliver solutions that fully meet their customers' needs. EDS and PTC's recent efforts and statements regarding interoperability have been met with skepticism. The study by Cyon Research explores the depth and substance of the agreement and the reality behind it.
