New Microstation Utility Retains Enter Data Field Contents During Global Cell Replacement

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, USA - Axiom, the world's largest independent provider of general-purpose MicroStation utilities, announces the release of Global File Changer 3.3 - the MicroStation utility that enables users to make unlimited changes to multiple design files quickly and easily. The new version of Global File Changer now reports the total number of each cell in individual MicroStation files or in a batch of MicroStation files. Version 3.3 also offers the functionality to retain text that had been entered into enter data fields contained in cells, when such cells are replaced.

New cell counter Global File Changer's new cell counting feature allows users to find out the exact number of cells placed in one or in hundreds of design files. The new feature reports the total number of each cell in each design file processed and also gives the total number of cells in all the files processed. This enhancement is perfect for MicroStation users who need to quantify the number of cells in any given project (as an example, for bills of material purposes).

Advanced cell replacement Replacing cells in batch is not new to Global File Changer. The new enhancement is an option that allows users to preserve text in cells that have enter data fields when these are replaced with other cells that also have enter data fields. The power of this feature can be seen when, for example, a CAD standard is changed and cells that contain text in their enter data fields must be replaced in hundreds of MicroStation files. Adding more control to the replacement process, version 3.3 also allows users to replace cells using relative or absolute levels.
