Parsons Signs Software Contract with Intergraph Process, Power & OffshoreMulti-million Dollar, Multi-year Agreement Consolidates Software Usage
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 14, 2002 - Parsons has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar software Global Alliance Agreement with the Process, Power & Offshore division of Intergraph Corporation <Nasdaq: INGR>. Under terms of the agreement, Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore will provide Parsons with a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for unlimited use of most of the division's current design and engineering software, including Plant Design System (PDS(tm)), SmartPlant(r) and INtools(tm) products. The Global Alliance Agreement also includes a pilot installation of SmartPlant Foundation (formerly Notia), an engineering information management solution. The Parsons contract is the latest in a series of Global Alliance Agreements and the first in 2002 for Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore. Standardizing Core Engineering Tools John Thomas, Parsons' chief information officer, said, "The Global Alliance Agreement represents a substantial opportunity for further productivity increases by Parsons through standardization of core engineering tools, consistent training methodology and more streamlined work processes. Based on Parsons' long-standing relationship with Intergraph since the early 1980s, the agreement consolidates our continuing trust of and investment in Intergraph software." Tom Doran, vice president, Americas Business Unit, Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore, said, "Through the Global Alliance Agreement, Intergraph anticipates that our technology will significantly broaden its current, integral role in Parsons' business. The agreement's economies of scale and global availability of industry standard software and support should substantially help to reinforce Parsons' successful international business model." Doran served as executive sponsor of the agreement for Intergraph. Agreement Covers PDS, SmartPlant, INtools Software Most of the Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore division's current software tools including PDS, SmartPlant and INtools product portfolios are covered by the agreement. PDS is the world's leading software for 3D and 2D design and construction of process and power plants and includes FrameWorks(r) Plus for structural modeling. SmartPlant software includes SmartPlant Foundation for engineering information management; SmartPlant P&ID for intelligent piping and instrumentation diagrams; SmartPlant Review for 3D visualization; SmartSketch(r) for cost-effective 2D design; and SmartPlant Explorer for Web access and reporting of design engineering data. The SmartPlant Foundation solution provides enterprise capture, storage and management of information and drawings as well as engineering tool integration components. INtools enables instrumentation engineering, design and management tasks throughout the plant life cycle.
