21 Seats of COSMOS/ Installed at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Los Angeles (California), March 13, 2002 - Structural Research & Analysis Corp. (SRAC), a leading developer of design analysis software for engineering professionals, today announced the sale of 21 seats of COSMOS/DesignSTAR to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for use in undergraduate, graduate, and research programs.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is the largest Hong Kong tertiary institution in terms of the number of students enrolled in its full-time and part-time courses. "The main objectives of the university are to provide for studies, training and research in technology, science, commerce, arts and other subjects of learning," said Dr. Francis Lau, Lecturer of Industrial and System Engineering Department at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. COSMOS/DesignSTAR will be used extensively for teaching and research support. Teaching level support includes such subjects as Computer Aided Product Design, Rapid Production Technologies, Integrated Product and Process Design, and Tooling Design. In addition, the software will be use to solve non-linear design problems and demonstrate how time compression, virtual prototype and validation knowledge intensive CAD can be used in local SMEs for research activities.
