25 Seats of COSMOS/Works Installed at California State University at Fresno
Los Angeles (California), February 20, 2002 - Structural Research & Analysis Corp. (SRAC), a leading developer of design analysis software for engineering professionals, today announced the sale of 25 seats of COSMOS/Works to the California State University, Fresno to be used in teaching students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science during the 2002 academic year. With a strong emphasis on computer-aided design, Fresno State's Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department enables engineering students to study the effects of different parameters on the operation and performance of energy, fluid, aerospace, and other mechanical systems. Laboratory courses focus on computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, computer-integrated manufacturing, materials handling, plant layout, and human factors engineering. "COSMOS/Works ease of use and close integration with SolidWorks are two essential reasons why we chose the software for our engineering curriculum," said Dana Zupanovich Lucka, Director of Development, College of Engineering and Computer Science at CSU Fresno. "When students are first learning the basics of design analysis, the software should help simplify the learning process, not make it more complicated." "We are pleased that Fresno State has chosen COSMOS/Works as the analysis tool of choice for its mechanical engineering program," said Suchit Jain, VP of Marketing for SRAC. "For students wishing to enter the mechanical or industrial engineering fields, there is no better program to learn the concepts of analysis than COSMOS/Works. The program will give them a firm foundation and skills that they can take with them in their professional careers." About the California State University, Fresno Established in 1911, Fresno State is one of the most prestigious of the 23 campuses in the California State University system.
