Allsheets, Inc releases New, improved version of Desktop power Tools for ARCHITECTURAL DESK TOP

Software aimed at saving time, and streamlining the design process

Orlando, Florida, February 15, 2002 - Allsheets, Incorporated, a manufacturer of CAD software and an AutoDesk Developer, announces the arrival of version 1.5 of their Desktop Power Tools for ARCHITECTURAL DESK TOP? software. Allsheets Detail Compiler has been designed for residential designers/draftsmen who use Autodesk Architectural Desktop.

Desktop Power Tools, a plug-in for "Architectural Desktop", has taken a software wish list and assembled a powerful, yet simple to use, suite of automated routines that will save the user a significant amount of design/drafting time! Expanded dimensioning techniques are added to ADT to speed up the dimensioning process.

New for version 1.5:

* The main roof routine has been enhanced for more flexibility in pitch angles.

* The electrical routines have been significantly expanded upon. It is now possible to modify closets and closet doors

Other features:

* An automated standard bath routine now makes putting in a standard bath a simple two-point process. The bath routine installs a tub, water closet, and sink, vanity, mirror, medicine cabinet, and lights - all in 3D! In addition, the electrical 2D fixtures are installed all at once!

* Kitchen cabinets can be created by drawing a simple poly-line and pressing return -kitchen cabinets with interchangeable doors appear in seconds.

* Interior wall offsets and header routines make designing in 2D/3D simple and easy. The interior walls are set to the drywall layers to enable extraction capabilities of the Allsheets Estimator (soon to be released).

* Foundations plans are can now be made in two clicks of the mouse. Complete outside wall footing can be installed in a matter of seconds. The user may select the type of footing: Monolithic, Stem wall/basement/crawl space and window the floor plan. After that, Allsheets Desktop Power tools for ARCHITECTURAL DESK TOP does the rest. All the column footings can be installed instantly with a simple menu selection.

* Closets are a two-click process. The closet is measured and sized for the maximum shelf space, and a door sized for the area is installed. Closets come with a choice of any standard door style.

* Square foot Calculations and Room Sizes make keeping track of the size of your dwelling, and labeling the rooms an easy process.

* If a bay window is needed, just select a standard size or customize one to your liking, and with two clicks of the mouse you have a bay window of your choice completely dimensioned and ready for a roof.

* The electrical selections include all the necessary fixtures needed for a residence. Almost all routines ask for a switch location, and then a fixture location. Desktop Power tools for ARCHITECTURAL DESK TOP? installs the switch, fixture, and the conduit all at once. Outlets are anchored to the walls in case a wall is erased. If that occurs then outlet will be removed also.

* Stock windows and doors are available to choose from in an easy to use format. If you don't like entering the size of each window/door select it from our window/door menus. A dimension appears during installation to help guide you to a specific location of the window/door. Annotation is added during the installation.

* The Desktop Power tools for ARCHITECTURAL DESK TOP roof object is grouped together for easy editing. It is easy to change the type of roof instantly. Allsheets has addressed almost every type of roof needed to assemble a roof structure in any residence.

* The 2D truss plan is also generated in the installation. The roof routine also addresses the multiple height wall situations. Sometimes a roof is required to extend from either a higher wall in the front to a lower wall in the back of a house, or vice versa. Desktop Power tools for ARCHITECTURAL DESK TOP main roof handles these multi height roof configurations as easy as it does the stock main roof that utilizes a single plate height.

* Many more utility routines are included to make drawing a residence simple and easy.
