Toolpath Creation

The product utilizes a simple, wizard-type interface that leads users through each process to help prevent costly mistakes. Users can reuse legacy toolpaths by converting any 2D/3D wireframe geometry into toolpaths. Users can also stretch part geometry and toolpaths to make quick adjustments without redoing the entire process.

Comprehensive Drilling

KEYMILL's drilling functions include a complete spectrum of canned cycles. Macros can be custom-programmed by users to allow the reuse of a sequence of operations.

Profile Milling

Flexible milling functions let users create a path as an offset of a closed or open chain of lines, arcs, splines and conics. Visual preview functions show cutter entry and exit locations, direction and path position for verification. Lead-in and lead-out conditions can be configured with radial blend, tangent and perpendicular options to eliminate dwell marks. There is also full support for cutter diameter compensation and tapered walls.

Spiral Pocketing

KEYMILL 2-AXIS�s spiral pocketing capabilities handle all combinations of islands, bosses, nested pockets and pockets at different depths. Advanced features such as re-roughing of rest material save programming time.

KEYMILL 2-AXIS lets users makes full use of all CAD geometry for generating optimal toolpaths and calculating estimated machining time to aid in planning jobs. Animated, solid (3D rendered) machining verification illustrates unexpected material removal before machining.

Data Management

Users can store the part geometry, toolpath, process sheet and the links to the NC programs in one file to easily track a job. User-defined cycles, tool lists and level lists can be stored as ASCII text files to share across jobs without having to re-enter the data, further reducing errors.

Drawing and Modeling Tools

KEYMILL 2-AXIS lets users build and edit 3D wireframe models or create 2D drawings based on ANSI, ISO, DIN and JIS standards. Advanced detailing capabilities include welding, surface texture and GD&T symbols as well as a library of over 500 fluid and electrical system schematic symbols for creating wiring or hydraulic diagrams.
