CAD Centric Systems Announces OneView Lite

Free, lightweight, 3D viewing for CAD data

Cincinnati, January 29, 2002 - CAD Centric Systems, a provider of tools for enterprise application interoperability, collaboration, and access of CAD/CAM data, today announced the immediate availability of OneView Lite a new addition to its already popular OneView application suite.

"As many of our customers continue to experiment with the downstream use of 3D data as part of the product lifecycle management process, CAD Centric wanted to offer them a tool to allow them to do this without a huge penalty.

And, we believe that there's a great fit with the OneView Lite product.

Customers can develop processes, experiment with 3D, educate non-technical users, and begin initial deployment with this tool," said Doug Dennis, President CAD Centric Systems. "Further, when they fully understand how to use 3D as part of their process, we'll be right there with our fully functional OneView Professional product for those areas where advanced visualization is needed."

OneView Lite builds upon the capabilities of CAD Centric's OneView application, which views both 2D drawing data and 3D model and assembly information generated by many of today's CAD systems. With OneView, corporate users have access to both model and drawing information from an integrated viewer this allows for comprehensive design reviews which require access to engineering, design, manufacturing, and production data from a unified viewer.

According to John Buehler, Chief Technical Officer and Founder, "Once again, CAD Centric has exceeded the expectations of our customers. We felt so strongly about the 3D capability within OneView that we decided to uncouple it and create a fully functional, lightweight, 3D viewer that everyone could have access to. What the customer gets is exactly what is available in our high-end OneView Professional package."

"We are so confident that customers will embrace this product that we have agreed to provide it for free. Once customers have the chance to experience the OneView Lite product, we are certain they will find many more places in the enterprise to put it and our other products to use," Dennis concluded.

"Couple this with our outstanding web products including CWEB and CWEB Enterprise and companies can economically deploy engineering data across the company to non-engineering users including sales, marketing, manufacturing, and beyond the enterprise to suppliers and customers."
