Cities Revealed Has Belfast Covered
November 2001 - The GeoInformation Group, publishers of Cities Revealed, today announced the availability of its new digital aerial photographic data set for Belfast, Northern Ireland. The survey, covering an area totalling 400 square kilometres, is the first commercially available orthorectified imagery to be captured at the higher 12.5cm resolution for Belfast and is Cities Revealed's first database in Northern Ireland. Data acquisition for Belfast, flown at 1400 feet, was completed in September of this year and has already raised significant interest amongst potential aerial photographic users. North Down City Council, who plan to use the aerial photography for economic development purposes, is one of the first clients to purchase this product. "We are extremely excited about creating our first ever aerial photographic data set for Northern Ireland. It not only extends our continually expanding archive of Cities Revealed high resolution databases, but also strengthens our position as premier supplier of new and innovative imagery products", says Dr Alun Jones, Commercial Director for The GeoInformation Group. The data, which has been corrected to OSNI national grid, is provided in the standard Cities Revealed format complete with its new free image management software, CRImage Manager 3.0. It is also available in both compressed and uncompressed formats with the former being JPEG, SID or ECW.
