Arc Second To Release Interface for MicroStation V8

New Version to Support DGN File Format

DULLES, Va - December 12, 2001 - Arc Second, Inc., the leading provider of mobile CAD software solutions, today announced that PocketCAD PRO now supports the Bentley MicroStation V8 DGN file format.

PocketCAD is fully functional CAD software for Windows powered mobile devices including Pocket PCs that allows mobile professionals to create, edit and view design drawings at the job site, reducing the need to bring paper blueprints into the field. This release directly addresses the requirements of organizations that use primarily MicroStation software or a hybrid of MicroStation and AutoCAD. With the addition of DGN file support, PocketCAD will be the most comprehensive mobile CAD application available to the industry today.

What's new in PocketCAD PRO 4.0:

• Converts MicroStation V8 and earlier DGN files to PocketCAD .CAD files
• Converts PocketCAD files to MicroStation V7 or V8 DGN files
• Converts DGN file elements, tags, levels, cells, shared cells, and reference files
• Replays PocketCAD edits on desktop DGN files by modifying the existing DGN file with changes made in the field
• Replays PocketCAD edits on desktop DGN files by modifying the existing DGN file with changes made in the field.

Users of PocketCAD today include architects, engineering project managers, space planners, job-site inspectors, facilities managers, manufacturing engineers, product designers, maintenance personnel and others who require mobile access to site and facility design information.

Pricing and Availability

The DGN interface for PocketCAD 4.0 is expected to ship in December 2001. PocketCAD PRO sells for $199 with either the MicroStation (DGN) or AutoCAD (DXF, DWG) filter. A PocketCAD PRO version supporting both MicroStation and AutoCAD file formats will be available for $258. PocketCAD is sold through a network of dealers or can be downloaded directly from www.pocketcad.com.
