IntelliWhere and GCWare Address Europe's LBS Surge with Joint Marketing and Sales Initiative

Companies assemble products, solutions, and skills to deliver top-quality LBS solutions

(Prague, Czech Republic), today announced a joint marketing and sales initiative that brings together their products, solutions, and skills to deliver unmatched value to customers in the GIS and location-based services (LBS) markets. Addressing the LBS surge across Europe, the initiative pairs GCWare's wireless offerings - GLOSARI, GCWare Fast Routing Component Set, and GCVoice Platform - with IntelliWhere's LocationServer software to create B2B applications for the telecommunications and utilities industries as well as FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), logistics, and transportation companies. GCWare also addresses mobile service providers, including telcos and m-Internet providers, with B2C applications designed to add value to consumers. Using an architecture that builds on Intergraph's industry-proven GIS technology, GeoMedia, IntelliWhere LocationServer delivers device-independent and data-format-independent solutions that are open, scalable, and proven in large-scale deployed applications.

As a result of this close cooperation, GCWare's solutions will be available on several platforms - Microsoft Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Enterprise Java Beans for application servers - via an interface from IntelliWhere LocationServer, giving customers the optimum choice for implementation. Scheduled availability for the joint IntelliWhere and GCWare solutions will begin in first quarter, 2002.
