Arc Second Releases PocketCAD DISTO Add-in

Custom Add-In Supports Real-Time As-Builting

DULLES, Virginia - October 29, 2001 - Arc Second, Inc., the leading provider of mobile CAD software solutions, today announced the release of a custom PocketCAD PRO 4.0 add-in designed for use with Leica Geosystems AG's DISTO pro series laser measurement devices.

Powered with AutoDesk technology, PocketCAD PRO software offers mobile professionals a comprehensive solution for creating, editing and viewing design drawings at the job site reducing the need to bring paper blueprints into the field. PocketCAD 4.0 reads and writes DWG and DXF files and is compatible with nearly all desktop CAD software packages, including AutoCAD Release 12 through 2002. PocketCAD works with any Windows powered mobile device including Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs.

With PocketCAD PRO 4.0 and the DISTO add-in, facility managers, space planners and architects can conduct real-time as-builting. All DISTOs measure using a visible red laser up to distances of 100m. As well as measuring distances, all DISTOs can quickly calculate areas and volumes. By connecting the Pocket PC and the DISTO via a serial cable, distance measurements can be instantaneously captured in PocketCAD.
