Moldflow Announces Moldflow Plastics Xpert 3.1 and Shotscope 2.4 Software Now Available On Same Hardware PlatformManufacturers Can Bolster Productivity With Powerful Dual Capabilities on One Machine
WAYLAND, Mass. - October 22, 2001 - Moldflow Corporation (Nasdaq:MFLO), the world leader in software solutions for optimizing the design and manufacture of plastic products, announces the availability of Moldflow Plastics Xpert (MPX) 3.1 and Shotscope 2.4 software, which are now integrated on one hardware platform. The streamlined package helps organizations reduce the overall costs of ownership while enhancing functionality with new, powerful capabilities. Peter Rucinski, Moldflow's director of product marketing, says, "Traditionally, each of these software products required separate data acquisition devices and touch-screen computers. Ultimately, this redundant hardware adds to the costs and complexity associated with injection molding manufacturing operations. Today's announcement demonstrates Moldflow's commitment to streamlining products and processes to help manufacturers become more productive and reduce costs and shows the speed with which Moldflow can integrate acquired products." MPX is a software product for the setup, optimization, and control of the injection molding process. MPX 3.1 contains major new features to help customers increase the value that MPX adds to injection molding processes including:
The Moldflow Shotscope process monitoring and analysis system is a comprehensive product suite which collects critical data in real time from injection molding machines on the factory floor, then records, analyzes, reports and allows access to the information for use in critical decision making. It can be used for both plastic injection molding and metal die casting operations. Shotscope 2.4 includes the following enhancements: Rucinski adds, "While we're very pleased with the enhancements that have been added to the software packages individually, the bigger picture is the overall convenience measures that we have implemented as a result of streamlining the performance of both packages on one hardware platform. Most Shotscope installations today, for instance, can easily be upgraded with full MPX functionality on the same machine. That increased capability at a reduced cost is very powerful, especially during a time when manufacturers are looking for efficient ways to optimize their operations."
Moldflow will ship both new software products and associated hardware on October 22, 2001.
