Spicer Corporation releases Imagenation 6.3New features include additional native file support and License Manager
KITCHENER, ON, October 15, 2001 - Spicer Corporation, a world leader in developing interoperable document viewing, markup, scanning, and editing software today announced the release of Imagenation 6.3. This latest release of Spicer's visualization, markup, and scanning tool significantly enhances Imagenation with new native file format support, and a License Manager utility. Imagenation enables users to quickly and accurately display and markup over 150 file formats. New file format support in Imagenation 6.3 includes:
A License Manager has also been added to Imagenation to simplify network administration and enable all members of an organization to easily access Imagenation's powerful functions from a network. The License Manager provides security, similar to that of a dongle, which grants access to Imagenation through a TCP/IP network. This gives administrators new flexibility for configuring concurrent Imagenation client sessions from a server installation. "With the release of Imagenation 6.3 we continue to meet market demand for high quality renderings of native formats such as AutoCAD 2002, and Microsoft Office XP formats that include PowerPoint, Excel and Word," said Tony Prilesnik, Imagenation Product Manager. "We also continue to embrace emerging open-standards technologies such as XML with our scalable vector graphics (SVG) support." As part of Spicer's suite of Enterprise Visualization Solutions, Imagenation is capable of viewing markups created in Spicer's Java-powered thin client visualization tool, ViewCafe?, and from Image a*X ActiveX? controls. This interoperability ensures that files which are viewed or marked up in one Spicer solution can be opened and read by Spicer users at any other location regardless of whether employees are using a Spicer thick client, thin client, or ActiveX implementation. "Imagenation's new License Manager strengthens interoperability among Spicer products and the Spicer Enterprise Visualization Solutions platform by making it easier for administrators to deploy Imagenation to all members of an organization," Prilesnik added. Native scanner drivers for VIDAR, KIP, Contex, and Widecom scanners help organizations put their paper documents online and share important information with employees, suppliers, and business partners. Available in 22 languages and several different feature-packed editions, Imagenation readily integrates into virtually any document or data management system.
