FKI Logistex Brings 65,000 Drawings On-line with Docupoint's DrawingSearcher

SUNNYVALE, California - October 11, 2001 - Docupoint today announced that FKI Logistex has gone live with DrawingSearcher v2.5 at the company's Danville, KY facility. Over 65,000 AutoCAD drawings, representing 15 years of design data, are now accessible enterprise-wide through the DrawingSearcher technical document portal. DrawingSearcher combines the functionality of a web server, full text search engine and DWF (Drawing Web Format) web publishing component into an easy-to-use server application for AutoCAD.

"In about a day we were able to install DrawingSearcher version 2.5 and index our entire archive of 65,000 AutoCAD drawing files. Now, anyone within the company can simply point their web browser to the DrawingSearcher Intranet web site, enter their search request, and immediately view and print the drawings they need", said Greg Lemay, Project Engineer for FKI Logistex. "Our drawing archive is of tremendous value to the company. With DrawingSearcher we can unlock that value by making the files available company-wide. The users really appreciate the full text search capabilities and fast previewing of PNG images; I like that the drawings are automatically published as DWF files, protecting the original DWG files from unauthorized downloading and editing", Mr. Lemay added.
