Docupoint Reports Record Revenue GrowthRevenue exceeds prior quarter by 130% lead by strong DrawingSeacher sales
SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 4, 2001 - Docupoint today announced record revenue growth for the company's third quarter. Sales for the quarter grew by 73% from the same period last year and 130% from the prior quarter. The financial results reflect strong new sales and upgrades of the recently released DrawingSearcher version 2.5. DrawingSearcher combines the functionality of a web server, full text search engine and DWF (Drawing Web Format) web publishing component into an easy-to-use server application for AutoCAD.The major milestones achieved by Docupoint for the third quarter include: Weyerhaeuser and Quotegen.com. Strong International sales including first time sales into Norway (Institutt for energiteknikk) and Chile (Chilqunita Energia S.A.).Continued strong component sales of the Whip-n-Post! ActiveX control (DWG to DWF conversion).Hiring of additional software development staff. "Docupoint's strong quarter is a reflection of our ability to execute our long term plan. With the sudden implosion of the dot com's, companies are understandably hesitant to trust their valuable design data with an ASP-based solution. Instead, they are choosing to purchase Intranet enabled document management applications installed on their in-house server", said Brad Bishop, CEO of Docupoint. "This has fueled tremendous sales growth for our newly released DrawingSearcher version 2.5. With a combination of record software sales and strong services revenue, it's no surprise that we had such a great quarter", Mr. Bishop added.Docupoint is a privately held company based in Sunnyvale, California specializing in Internet enabled Document Management Solutions.DrawingSearcher and Whip-n-Post! are trademarks of Docupoint. AutoCAD is a registered trademark of Autodesk (Nasdaq:ADSK); WHIP! and Volo View are trademarks of Autodesk.
