Intergraph's Team GeoMedia Responds to Geospatial Technology Growth in Mainstream ITNew programs and new tools boost partner opportunities and empower partners for success
HUNTSVILLE, Ala - October 1, 2001 - As geospatial technology achieves critical mass in mainstream information technology (IT), organizations are seeking partners with solid expertise and a global infrastructure to meet their business support needs. Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions is responding to this growth by today announcing an expanded Team GeoMedia program. Team GeoMedia provides a global partnership framework for companies and individuals focused on the development, sales, marketing, and support of geospatial industry products and solutions based on Intergraph's GeoMedia technology. New to Team GeoMedia are programs that boost partner opportunities. Whether members are interested in one or several of these opportunities - developing applications and solutions, reselling technology, delivering GIS data, providing training and consulting services - Team GeoMedia has a customized program to meet their needs. Channel communication with members is also integral to Team GeoMedia. A new online resource, http://www.teamgeomedia.com, provides secure access to members for the delivery of sales support and technical information. A section that is available to the public provides information about Team GeoMedia and will provide access to a soon-to-be-announced solutions catalog of partners including applications and services powered by GeoMedia and datasets that are ready for GeoMedia. Team GeoMedia is targeted at consulting firms, systems integrators, data providers, resellers, enterprise software/solutions providers, and development partners who want to work with a technology pacesetter and who want to expand their geospatial business. Preetha Pulusani, executive vice president, Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions, comments, "We're extremely pleased with the response from current and prospective members to the new direction of Team GeoMedia. We foresee many opportunities for our partners either in focused market segments or in emerging areas such as wireless and location-based services. "As organizations continue to align geospatial technology and IT and expand their global reach, we're poised to respond. Because Team GeoMedia has a proven track record for bringing together the right elements - knowledge, technology, partners, infrastructure - we will continue to build solid, successful relationships with our Team GeoMedia network. These relationships transform to successful solutions for our mutual mapping and GIS customers worldwide." Program appeals to companies and individualsTeam GeoMedia goes beyond traditional indirect channel and technical support agreements to define partnership levels and program components that are targeted at achieving mutual business goals. These programs enable members to provide the broadest range of innovative geospatial solutions and services to their customers. Program levels include: Team GeoMedia Subscriber - Any company or individual with at least one license of any GeoMedia product under a regular maintenance contract may become a member of the Team GeoMedia Subscriber program. This membership level is most appropriate for end users with internal application development teams and education or research labs. Team GeoMedia Registered Solutions Provider - Intergraph has developed and tested a new, dedicated business partner program combining the benefits in the technology and business support areas. First introduced in Europe, the Registered Solutions Provider program is now available worldwide for qualified partners. These partners are leaders - in specific industries, territories, or applications in the geospatial area - and are authorized to resell Intergraph technology. Team GeoMedia Registered Solutions Center - In parallel to the Registered Solutions Provider program, Intergraph is introducing a global program called the Team GeoMedia Registered Solutions Center for non-reselling business partners, primarily for systems integrators, consulting companies, or data providers. Team GeoMedia Strategic Partner - Strategic Partners are selected to form strategic alliances between Intergraph and global enterprise software/solutions providers, data providers, consulting firms, systems integrators, and development partners. Team GeoMedia Certified Developer - The Certified Developer designation indicates an expert skill level in the desktop or Web areas. An individual may become a Team GeoMedia Certified Developer by attending a Developing Desktop Solutions course or a Developing Web Solutions course, passing a GeoMedia Developer Aptitude Test, and maintaining development status by retaking the aptitude test every two years. Team GeoMedia Certified Trainer - The Certified Product Trainer program is critical for training professionals to guarantee quality to their customers. Team GeoMedia Certified Product Trainers must have a thorough knowledge of GeoMedia or GeoMedia Professional as well as training skills. Trainers must attend either the GeoMedia User course or the GeoMedia Professional User course, pass the Product Knowledge Assessment Test, and update trainer status with each new product release. Team GeoMedia Certified Solutions Trainers must first qualify as Certified Developers by taking the appropriate course and passing the GeoMedia Developer Aptitude Test, have training skills, and maintain status by retaking the aptitude test with each new release. Team GeoMedia Certified Consultant - The new Certified Consultant program requires long-term commitment, outstanding skill sets, and broad experience in the mapping and GIS industry. To become a Team GeoMedia Certified Consultant, an applicant must be a Certified Developer for at least six months with at least three years of proven GeoMedia development experience and three successful project references.
