CADCAM-E.COM Now Supports UG V17 to Pro/E 2000i2 Translations

FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan - September 21, 2001 - CADCAM-E.COM, the Internet-based CAD/CAM data conversion service, has introduced a new version of its Unigraphics to Pro/ENGINEER conversion service that reads Unigraphics files up to version 17 (uncompressed files only) and writes Pro/ENGINEER Part (.prt) files from Versions 18, 19, 20, 2000i and 2000i2. The ability to support the latest file formats adds an important new capability to this conversion service, which was already the only way to convert Unigraphics to Pro/ENGINEER files without purchasing software or uploading part files to a third party. The ability to read Unigraphics data from within Pro/ENGINEER and utilize it in a modeling session also means that contract manufacturers and other Pro/ENGINEER users can achieve dramatic savings by eliminating the need to purchase a Unigraphics license.

Offered by Compunix and Cimsoftek, two leading producers of CAD translators, the CADCAM-E.COM web site delivers interoperability solutions to the user's desktop over the web. The user simply registers for the service and downloads the translation software and installs it on their desktop. The security of design data is assured, as data never leaves user's desktop. The program is supported on all platforms that support Pro/ENGINEER and is very simple to operate, providing "one-button" translation.
