New - Internet based "Drag and Drop" automated CAD introducedOfficeCAD introduces "Drag & drop" automated CAD for the Internet using non-draftsman
BELLINGHAM, Washington - September 17, 2001 - OfficeCAD's revolutionary drag & drop interface allows millions of CAD users to create fully detailed, dimensioned, to-scale, engineered assembly drawings using a simple Internet browser. With OfficeCAD's new D&D CAD interface, an Internet user can create a complex manufactured part by simply dragging a detail option with their mouse to an assembly drawing. The user moves the selected detail block which then jumps and snaps into place. The information about the block placed by the user is stored in a parametric drawing data base until the user selects the submit button on the web based configuration page. When the user has completed selecting and placing the options on his drawing, a new custom CAD drawing is generated instantly as a 100% AutoCAD drawing with dimensions, title block, a parts list and to-scale drawing details. Viewed as a bitmap image from within the browser, the drawing is also available for instant download from the web site with a right click of the mouse button.
A simplified interactive web based example of Drag and Drop CAD can be seen on line at http://www.officecad.com/hvacassm. (Netscape navigator required for this first demo.)
