Bentley International User Conference Cancelled

September 14, 2001 - As a result of this week's tragic circumstances in New York, Washington, D. C. and Pennsylvania, Bentley today made a decision to cancel the Bentley International User Conference and related events scheduled for the next two weeks in the Philadelphia area. We feel that, under the circumstances, it would be impossible and inappropriate to continue with our plans to hold the event, especially given the current uncertainties and anxiety related to air travel. This decision has not been made lightly, and we share your disappointment in the conference not taking place as planned but hope you will understand.

The cancelled activities include:

• Bentley International User Conference (BIUC), September 23-27,
• Philadelphia, PA Publishing, Plotting and Raster Training, September 16-19,
• Valley Forge, PA Enterprise Developer Conference September 19-21,
• Valley Forge Bentley Research Seminar, September 23, Philadelphia TMC
• Special Interest Group meetings, September 27, Philadelphia

No credit cards have been charged associated with registration. Bentley has informed all conference hotels of the cancellation on your behalf. If you made reservations at one of the conference hotels through the official Bentley reservation system, there is no need to contact the hotel. Please remember, however, to cancel any car rental or other hotel reservations you may have made. If you have any questions you can call the Bentley registration hotline at 1-800-709-9667.

On a personal note, please let me say that the deliberate destruction and the loss of life this week represents an incomprehensible affront to all of us whose work is dedicated to the creation and improvement of our civilized infrastructure. Despite the anguish, we are all doubtless resolved to continue working together on our important professional contributions.

The 2001 BIUC program included many important initiatives and announcements that we believe you should benefit from as soon as possible. To that end, we are hoping to schedule the next BIUC for the spring of 2002.

In the meantime, we will do our very best to bring this useful information and assistance to you, promptly and effectively, by other means. In the very near future we will announce a global series of web casts, seminars and training to communicate technology updates and corporate news intended for release at BIUC. We will soon be contacting you with details on these new events.
