PlanetCAD Launches CATIA V5 Migration Planning Program

Innovative Service Now Offered to CATIA-based Manufacturers Planning Migration to CATIA V5

DETROIT - August 28, 2001 - PlanetCAD Inc. (AMEX-PCD), a leading developer of Cycle Time Reduction solutions for the manufacturing supply chain, today announced the release of the PlanetCAD Passport to CATIA V5 ("Passport V5") program.

Passport V5 is a unique planning and budgeting tool essential for all CATIA users and CATIA-based manufacturers migrating from CATIA V4 data to CATIA V5 data. The program provides engineering management with detailed management reports that describe the estimated man-hours necessary to prepare the CATIA V4 data for migration, the critical data issues that will prevent the data from migrating successfully and the actual costs associated with the process. The report also demonstrates the cost savings that can be realized using the auto-correct features available as an option of Passport V5.

Upgrade options to the program provide tools for auto-correction of the migrated data to CATIA V5 standards, and offer "fast-track" access for ongoing quality assessment and repair of the data using the PrescientQA technology.
