ABB Power Transmission and Distribution Unit selects Synthesis Parametrics

BELLINGHAM, Washington - August 9 2001 - Synthesis Software, a provider of advanced parametrics for manufacturers & AutoCAD users, announced today that ABB Power Transmission and Distribution division has purchased Synthesis parametric software for its 33 offices worldwide. Synthesis R16 is the advanced parametric software which creates new AutoCAD drawings automatically for manufacturing and sales professionals.

Synthesis is being used by ABB for its new Common Design System. CDS was created to increase productivity and product quality world wide for ABB T&D division. Synthesis software was selected over other parametric products because of its advanced capabilities and reliability. Products designed by ABB T&D include large electrical transformers at 33 manufacturing plants world wide. ABB has over 165,000 employees worldwide.

The Synthesis Company has been selling parametric software since 1985 for manufacturing applications world wide. Applications of Synthesis parametrics range from mechanical to building products. Synthesis also creates parametric applications which create new drawings directly from web sites.
